When you’re moving from one place to the next, make sure you have all the moving supplies you need. Make your move successful with the right packing supplies. At Lowe’s, we have everything you need — from moving boxes to bubble wrap — to pack your belongings and protect them as you travel.

Small Moving Boxes, Large Moving Boxes and More

We carry a wide selection of sturdy boxes in a variety of sizes and types to match your moving and storage needs.

We offer small to extra-large standard boxes in addition to specialty boxes for moving problematic items. For transporting clothing, consider using a wardrobe box. Simply hang dresses, shirts, pants and more on the metal bar, and then easily transfer the items from the box to your new closet. For safely transporting TVs, framed pictures or mirrors, we recommend using a TV moving box. For extra protection when transporting fragile or heavier items, we offer heavy-duty boxes. These boxes are sturdier and have a double wall to better withstand unintentional impacts during transit.

If you’re packing up dishes, consider using a moving box kit. These are ideal for moving items from whole spaces, such as kitchens, living rooms or multiple bedrooms. Boxes are also available with attached or unattached lids. Some boxes are disposable for one-time use, while others are reusable. For ease of carrying, we also offer boxes with handle holes. Our selection includes cardboard, recycled cardboard and plastic box options.

Packing Materials

Don’t forget to gather packing materials to protect items inside boxes and items that are too big for boxes. At Lowe’s, we offer a wide selection.

For example, spread furniture covers and moving blankets over tables, chairs and other pieces before loading to avoid chipping and scratches. Mattress covers protect beds. Keep rugs clean and fresh in rug bags.

Wrap fragile glass and ceramic pieces in bubble wrap. Foam pouches are a good choice for large, delicate items. Care for paintings, diplomas and other framed items with frame protectors. Glass packing kits are available to protect your glasses and other fragile items during transit. Separate items with packing paper. And bubble wrap is always a versatile, light and reliable multi-use product.

Bungee Cords

Secure your belongings in transit with bungee cords and tarp straps. Bungee cords are perfect for light jobs, but choose a weatherproof, rust-resistant and temperature-proof tarp strap for heavier jobs. Buy a pack with different lengths so you’re ready for anything.

Moving Straps

Moving straps make it easier to move and maneuver heavy items and odd-shaped objects that are hard to grip, such as overstuffed recliners. Slide the polypropylene or nylon straps around each piece of furniture and use your hands and arms to lift and guide the pieces from your home to the moving truck.

Furniture Sliders

Move your heaviest dressers, chests, cabinets, tables and large appliances easily with furniture sliders. If you place sliders beneath the bottom of a piece of furniture, you can slide it across your floor without damaging either the furniture or the floor. Furniture sliders are available for both hard surfaces and carpeted floors. They come in plastic, felt and combinations of both.

Hand Trucks

Make the walk from your home to the moving truck easier and faster by using a hand truck. At Lowe’s, we have a selection of hand-truck styles that includes dollies, furniture dollies, furniture hand trucks, convertible hand trucks, standard hand trucks, heavy-duty hand trucks and appliance hand trucks. Some hand trucks can carry loads of more than 1,000 pounds.

Moving Tape
When everything is in boxes and ready to go, seal the deal with moving tape. Packing tape helps to make sure heavy loads don’t fall through the bottoms of boxes. It also helps boxes to stay securely closed in transit over tough terrain. Go with lightweight packing tape for boxes 10 pounds or lighter. A heavier-weight tape can secure loads up to 80 pounds.
