How to Clean an Air Purifier

Use a dry, soft-bristled brush to clean the filtered air outlet, typically found on the top and back of the unit. This helps remove dust and debris that could obstruct airflow.

Carefully detach the front grill according to the manufacturer’s instructions—there’s usually a pull tab for easy removal. Wash it with warm water or a mild soap solution if it needs a deeper cleaning. It ensures that the grill does not obstruct airflow.

If your model allows, wash the HEPA filter with warm water and let it dry completely. For heavily soiled filters, soaking them in hot water can be effective. Always check your model’s guidelines first, as not all HEPA filters can be washed.

For non-washable, permanent HEPA filters, use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris. Never wash these filters with water, as it can cause damage.

Once everything is clean and dry, return the HEPA filter to the air purifier and replace the front grill. Wipe down the outside of the unit with a dry or lightly damp microfiber cloth.

Plug in your air purifier and turn it on. Enjoy the fresh, clean air from your recently cleaned device.
