How to Clean Brass

Once the solution is ready, apply the solution on the brass items with the help of a microfiber cloth and gently rub the solution on the brass item.

Allow the solution to sit for several minutes, then wipe it off using a wet cloth. Let the brass item dry completely to avoid any solution staining it.

Now, add 2 tablespoons of flour into the mixture to work as a thickener to make a paste.

Make sure to gently rub the paste onto the brass items and allow it to settle down for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, rinse the brass item with water to wash off the paste properly. Wipe the item with a dry cloth and allow it to dry for some time.

Start polishing the brass item with a cloth and feel free to apply more toothpaste if the stains are tough to remove.

Once done with polishing the brass, rinse it with cool water and dry it with a microfiber cloth.

Now, soak your brass item into the solution made above for a few seconds and use a toothbrush to remove the stains.

Once you have scrubbed the brass item with a toothbrush for a few seconds, rinse it with water, wipe it with a clean cloth and allow it to dry for some time.

If the test area looks good, evenly spread ketchup over the brass surface. Allow it to sit for a few minutes so the acid can break down the tarnish.

Using a damp cloth, gently wipe away the ketchup to remove any residue and tarnish. Rinse the brass item thoroughly with water to ensure it's completely clean.

Finally, use a clean, dry cloth to wipe the brass, leaving it sparkling and shiny.
