Types of Lighting
Lighting is an important feature in your home. Not only does it illuminate your space, but it can define the look and feel of any room.
Before selecting the style, you'll need to determine what the needs are for your space.
- Do you need an ornate chandelier over your dining table?
- Would several pendants over a kitchen island look the best?
- Would wall sconces look best flanking your vanity, or would you prefer an overhead light?
- What is the best lighting for the exterior of your home?

Select Your Style
Now that you've figured out the type of lighting that you need, it's time to go shopping. We have the perfect light for every style and budget.
Updated Traditional
Our first collection of lighting is called Updated Traditional. This trend takes a classic style and updates it with new finishes and materials that have a light and open feel. Finishes include brass, white and black, while crystals add sparkle to the mix.
For the look on the left, two ornate crystal chandeliers are statement-makers. The touch of black in the hardware, coupled with the crystals, brings sophistication to this soft, neutral dining room.
In the right image, a fanned lotus leaf-shaped pendant would look chic as a single pendant in a seating area, as a row of lights in a hallway or as a trio over a kitchen island.
Farmhouse
The next style is called Farmhouse, which remains an enduring décor favorite. Materials found in farmhouse lighting include natural or distressed wood tones, aged metal finishes and vintage milk glass. This lighting works best in modern farmhouse, rustic cottage, cottagecore or French country spaces.
In our first look, several open-cage brushed gray metal pendants give an industrial feel to a modern farmhouse kitchen.
Hang the second chandelier in a dining nook, bedroom or as a duo over a kitchen island. This wood chandelier with an antique whitewashed finish brings shabby chic vibes and would work well in a French country or cottagecore-styled space.
Coastal
If you live near the beach or just want to feel like you do, the Coastal lighting trend is one you’ll want to follow. In the first image, the kitchen feels light and airy due to the large rattan pendants over the island. Soft blue walls and bright white cabinetry complete the look.
And a dining nook is in shipshape with this nautically inspired light fixture in blue and white metal. A jute rug, wicker loveseat and textured pillows will have you feeling beach bound in no time.
Soft Modern
Our final trend is called Soft Modern and can work in homes with looks ranging from modern boho to glam. The looks include natural fibers, mixed metals and geometric shapes.
In the first image, an oversized wall sconce makes a bold statement with glass globes hanging at different lengths from a brushed brass plate. Pair these lights with a dark paint color for the wall to make them stand out.
In the second image, this polished chrome chandelier is a nod to the sputnik style that’s regained popularity. It’s a fun and unexpected addition to a sleek living room.
Ceiling Fans
The standard dull ceiling fan gets a stylish update incorporating the Farmhouse, Coastal, Updated Traditional and Soft Modern trends that are seen in our lighting fixtures.
In our Soft Modern look, a curved, distressed wooden ceiling fan complements the buffet and warms up the neutral living room.
In the middle image, a glamorous fan with clear blades and brass accents is the perfect accessory for this serene bedroom in our Updated Traditional collection.
Those that prefer a more rustic or industrial look will love this bronze and distressed-wood ceiling fan from our Farmhouse collection.
