Blue Vanities

A bathroom with a navy vanity, brass faucet, wall sconces, blue wallpaper and herringbone wall tile.

Hit the sweet spot between classic and modern style with a lively combination of the two in this bright and blue space. For the classic part, we used a navy vanity with a white countertop, a brass oval-framed mirror and white ceramic floor tile.

Next, we added some modern flavor using sleek sconces, energetic blue and white wallpaper, and a brass faucet and towel ring. Be sure to check out our Wall Sconce Buying Guide for help finding the right sconces for your bathroom.

Modern Vanities

A bathroom with white tile walls, chrome faucets, white countertop and a dark-stained wood vanity.

If you prefer a modern look with some warmth, this bathroom fits the bill. This selection features a handsome double vanity with a white countertop, geometric wall tile, a rectangular lighted mirror and two industrial pendants.

Larger bathrooms benefit from a double vanity with the extra counter space and storage. This particular vanity is playing upon the trend of tamboured or slatted-wood strips. It adds texture and dimension to an otherwise plain wooden cabinet. It's finished with a dark stain and chrome square hardware.

Small Vanities

Small spaces are easier than most to make charming. Since storage isn't as much of a concern in a powder room or half bath, you can focus more on style. For a powder room vanity, choose from numerous vanity types such as pedestal sinks, wall-mounted vanities or a wash stand style. In this case, we used a rustic vanity with a barn-style door for our modern farmhouse space.

To complete the look, we added white shiplap, a dark bronze faucet, bath accessories and finished with soft green bathroom tile and towels to match.

This sophisticated powder room contains clean lines and a neutral palette. Modern bathroom vanities — like this floating one with a matching mirror and cabinetry — offer a compact solution for your half-bath.

Other small powder room ideas we used to make this bathroom appear larger include using white open shelving and oversized subway tile to keep things light and bright. Vintage gray tile sporting a woodgrain finish completes the look with a splash of texture and color.
