Monica Mangin is back with Season 4 of The Weekender, helping homeowners update their homes with five projects over the course of a weekend. Watch as she transforms small kitchens, builder-grade bedrooms, jumbled workspaces and more, and get tips and tricks for your own remodels.

Episode 1: "Beauty of a Beige Bath"

Not every makeover requires getting rid of everything. In this episode, Monica updates Cara’s bathroom, livening up the beige-heavy space with wainscoting, wallpaper and new furnishings.

  • Bathroom Demo: Removing an existing vanity, medicine cabinet and wall tile
  • Wainscoting: Installing wainscoting panels over a tile bathroom wall
  • Wallpapered Walls: Adding textured wallpaper above the wainscoting
  • Bath Caddy: Building a caddy that holds votive candles, a wineglass and a good book
  • New Vanity: Installing the new bathroom vanity, sinks and faucets

Episode 2: "Makeover Swap With LustreLux"

Monica works with Katy and Jon from “LustreLux” on a weekend bedroom makeover, and Katy creates some makeover magic for Monica.

  • Ceiling Accents: Painting the wood beams of a plank ceiling to make the planks pop
  • Mini Bench: Building a custom oak display bench with storage space
  • Barn Doors: Installing sliding barn doors to replace mirrored closet doors
  • Doggie Stairs: Building stairs to help a family dog reach the bed
  • Rustic Valence: Constructing a shiplap valence to hide the blinds on a bedroom window
  • Monica’s Makeover (Bonus Project): Katy gives Monica a makeover and some beauty tips

Episode 3: "Office for Two"

Monica uses stock cabinets, custom desktops and more to add a new level of functionality to Joe and Melanie's shared home workspace.

  • Wall Paint: Renewing the office walls with a silver-toned neutral paint
  • Papered Ceiling: Applying bold peel-and-stick wallpaper to the ceiling
  • Workweek Calendar: Making a write-on, floating calendar with acrylic sheets and decals
  • Work Hub: Creating built-in workspaces with custom desktops and stock kitchen cabinets
  • Corkboard: Attaching cork squares to a lauan panel to create an office bulletin board

Episode 4: "The See-Through Kitchen"

This week, Monica works with Kennis and Regina to give their small kitchen a bit of breathing room.

  • Kitchen Demo: Removing cabinets, countertops and the sink to prepare for the remodel
  • Updated Cabinet Doors: Using cabinet paint and a paint sprayer to revitalize cabinet doors
  • Buffet: Transforming wall cabinets into a dining room buffet with shelves
  • New Countertop: Adding solid-surface-look laminate countertops
  • Kitchen Floor: Installing new kitchen flooring with peel-and-stick vinyl tile and planks

Episode 5: "The Industrial Revelation"

Monica uses faux concrete, floor paint, wooden ceiling beams and more to give a bedroom the look of industrial minimalism.

  • Floor Prep: Removing carpet, pad and spackling compound from the original wood floors
  • Faux Concrete Wall: Covering a wall with tinted joint compound for the look of concrete
  • Floor Paint (Bonus Project): Redoing the orange-painted wood floors with light gray porch paint
  • Closet Organizer: Installing a customizable wire closet organization system
  • Work Nook: Creating and installing a quick and easy ergonomic standing desk
  • Ceiling Accents: Creating the look of ceiling beams with stained pine planks

Episode 6: "Halfway to Rustic"

Mark and Tara have been making progress towards finishing their rustic master bathroom project, but Monica helps them pull the makeover together.

  • Fresh Paint: Brightening bathroom walls while adding some contrast for subway tile
  • Framed Mirror: Creating a rustic-look mirror with a distressed pine frame
  • New Floor: Installing wood-look tile planks over the existing tile floor
  • Vanity: Putting in the new bathroom vanity, sink drains and faucets
  • Air Plant Art: Adding a touch of nature with small hanging planters

Episode 7: "Tiny Mighty Kitchen"

This week, Monica upgrades Katelyn's small, hardworking kitchen by adding some style and efficiency.

  • Kitchen Demo: Removing countertops, cabinets, backsplashes and vinyl flooring
  • Butcher-Block Countertop: Installing a new butcher-block countertop over new base cabinets
  • New Backsplash: Installing a woven-look tile backsplash
  • Wood Flooring: Painting and staining wood floor planks to create a distressed, reclaimed look
  • Stair Wall: Installing wood planks to close off an open space near basement stairs

Episode 8: "The Creativity Room"

Aleeza and Gershon’s five artistically inclined children already have a very useful crafting space, but it could use some organization and style. Luckily Monica is here to help.

  • New Paint: Repainting the craft area walls with a light gray paint
  • Craft Table: Building a workspace with stock kitchen cabinets, a plywood top and inset buckets
  • Organization Wall: Creating an organization system with DIY pegboard made from plywood
  • Gallery Wall: Fashioning a display area with boards, hanging clips and a ledge for canvases
  • Upcycled Dresser: Revamping an existing dresser to create a wrapping station

Episode 9: "The Modern Man Cave"

In the Season 4 finale, Monica helps Keith and Codi complete an impressive gaming and entertainment room makeover. Who would’ve thought plywood could be this classy?

  • Fresh Paint: Beginning the transformation by repainting half of the room black
  • Media Unit: Building a stylish media cabinet divided between gaming and display
  • New Walls: Installing oak plywood with black detail work to complement the black walls
  • Gaming Room Bar: Creating a DIY plywood bar with vertical and diagonal accent boards
  • Lighting Accent: Using plywood and recessed lights to make a color-shifting light unit
