From lighting and furniture to rugs and flooring, curves are everywhere. We'll show you how to incorporate this trend into your home with products from Lowe's.

Home Decor

You don't have to look far these days to see soft curves and circular motifs in interior design. But your home doesn't have to undergo a curvaceous makeover. Incorporating a few elements through accessories is the easiest and most affordable way to blend these elements into your space.

Mirrors

Update a room with a circular, arched or irregular-shaped mirror. In the image on the left, a dramatic burl wood mirror makes a statement in an otherwise neutral hallway.

In the center image, this round framed wall mirror is a fun accent that brightens up any room. Use this over a sofa, in a dining room or in an entryway. In the right image, an irregular-shaped mirror is a simple switch-out from a standard rectangular frame.

Decorative Accessories

The simplest way to incorporate curves into your space is through home accessories such as vases, bowls, bookends, clocks, sculptures and more. In the image above, rounded vases and bowls are a modern addition to bookshelves and tables throughout your home.

Wall Art & Decor

Transform boring bare walls in your home with updated artwork, sculptures and accents. The black and white canvas wall art features gray, black and white arches and brings life to the entryway.

In the center image, a dramatic textured wall sculpture brightens up a white wall. The brass finish coordinates nicely with the trim on the console table. Finally, a bedroom gets an uplift with a bohemian curved headboard and two abstract prints in taupe and white.

Wallpaper & Panels

Another way to make a big impact on your walls is by using wallpaper and panels. Wallpaper in abstract shapes, curves and circles is an attractive backdrop in hallways, living spaces, bedrooms and nurseries.

Use embossed wall panels on accent walls and small spaces to create a textured effect.

Lighting

Lighting is one of the most dramatic ways to alter the mood of a room. The trend of curves in sconces, pendants and chandeliers can be found everywhere these days.

Wall Sconces

Chandeliers & Pendant Lighting

Wall Sconces

Wall sconces are functional, while equally dressing up a space. Flank an entryway or bathroom mirror with sconces for attractive lighting. Use wall sconces for easy reading in a bedroom or place them on a dimmer in a dining room to create an ambiance for your guests.

With the examples pictured, you can see curved elements in brass and matte black as bold and modern choices for your space. Sconces are available hard-wired or plug-in, so they're suitable for homeowners and renters.

Chandeliers & Pendant Lighting

These chandelier and pendant lights are making a dramatic statement with curved elements in glass, metal and brass. As you're looking at lighting for your dining space, consider these general rules:

  • Hang your lighting 30 to 36 inches above the table.
  • The chandelier should be 1/2 to 3/4 the width of the table.
  • The chandelier should be 1/2 to 2/3 the length of the table.
  • Think about the other elements in the room. A brass light brings warmth to a modern space that has a glass table, while a matte black pendant light contrasts nicely with a light wood table.
  • Add a dimmer so that you can control the light according to the occasion.

Furniture

Are you ready for a new couch, set of chairs or a coffee table?  It's time to add some curved living room furniture or dining room furniture to your home.

Coffee Tables

Add a round, oval or irregular-shaped coffee table to your living room. The first table in a light oak finish works well in modern and transitional homes. A round table often takes up less room than a square or rectangular table, making them great for those that live in small spaces.

The center table is in a light wood with a honey finish. The fluted base and curved edges would make this an attractive update. In the final image, this quirky and cloud-shaped table is a conversation starter and a great place to show off your favorite accessories.

End Tables

From small drink tables to larger end tables, there are numerous options that incorporate the curved design. The first end table in white and wood stripes with brass accents is a fun place to rest a drink. The center table in an antique gray oak has a fluted base that works well in modern and transitional spaces. The black tray table would work well in a small corner or bedroom to hold a plant, books or a drink.

Console Tables

Console tables are often the first item people see when they walk into your home, so make it something memorable. These tables in marble, brass, ebony wood, metal and wicker have an arched design and stunning curves that you'll love.

Sofas & Loveseats

A sofa is one of the biggest investments you'll make when purchasing furniture and these examples won't disappoint. The gorgeous olive green sectional with brass trim is a show stopper. For small spaces, the gray futon with curved chrome legs does double duty, acting as a bed for visitors. The cream sofa with rounded edges is a bold and comfortable choice for a living room.

Chairs

Whether you want a swivel chair for your living room or comfortable dining chairs, we have hundreds of seating choices that incorporate curved elements. Choose from dozens of colors and fabrics including boucle, velvet, linen, leather, canvas, suede and more.

Tile & Flooring

When you're decorating, rugs and tile can provide a striking foundation to build upon. Rugs that are irregularly shaped or have curves and circular designs are having a moment right now. Select from bold color choices to soft neutrals. If they're being used in a high-traffic area or you have pets and kids, consider a machine-washable rug.

If you're tiling an entryway, kitchen, bathroom or mudroom, here are some suggestions:

  • wavy patterns
  • scalloped mosaics
  • penny rounds
  • Arabesque motifs
  • stone pebbles

Patio Furniture

Curves can be found everywhere -- inside or out. From round wicker chairs and weather-resistant end tables to comfortable curved outdoor sofas, we have hundreds of outdoor products to decorate your deck or patio. Don't forget to accessorize with pillows, planters, an outdoor rug, string lights and a patio umbrella.
