Valentine's Tree
Don't pack away your red, white and pink ball ornaments after Christmas. They're a great base for your Valentine's tree. Here are a few more ideas to create a beautiful tree just in time for the season of love.
Garland
Cut out a bunch of paper or felt hearts. Thread a thick needle with baker's twine or string and poke a hole at the top of each heart. Space them a couple of inches apart and tie off each heart. Hang several garland strands around the tree.
Kid's Crafts
Break out the paint, glitter, sequins and more. Kids will love decorating heart cutouts. Punch a hole at the top and use ribbon to hang their ornaments around the tree.
Candy Hearts
Cut out hearts from pastel-colored material (cardboard, felt, paper) and use a stencil to paint sayings like "Hug Me", "XOXO", "Be Mine" and more.
Lights
Wrap heart-shaped lights or red, white and pink string lights around the tree.
Easter Tree
Ornaments
Paint or decorate plastic or wooden eggs and hang them from pretty pastel ribbons.
Tree Topper
Mold pipe cleaners or wire into bunny-shaped ears. Cover them with fabric and add them to the tree as an adorable topper.
Silk or Paper Flowers
Purchase silk or paper spring flowers and place them in the tree for bursts of beautiful color. Blooms that'll make a stunning backdrop include tulips, hydrangeas, peonies and ranunculus.
Lights
Use LED lights that are multi-colored and can be changed to pastels for spring. Some brands even have a seasonal mode where the lights can change for certain holidays like Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, July 4th and more.
Patriotic Tree
It's time to add some red, white and blue to your tree. Here are some Fourth of July decoration ideas you're sure to love.
Flags
Purchase packages of American flags and stick them all over the tree.
Ribbons
Buy a few rolls of red, white and blue ribbon in different widths and make a bunch of bows. Attach an ornament hanger to the back of each one and hang them from the tree.
Ornaments
Add a large container of red, white and blue ball ornaments to the tree. Also, find star ornaments or have the kids make some as a summer craft project. Add a large star as the tree topper.
Themed Lights
String lights shaped like stars, American flags, and mini Uncle Sam hats can be strung around the tree. Or you can also choose red, white and blue lights as a nod to the 4th of July.
Fall Tree
As the hot summer temperatures cool off, we welcome the changing leaves, chunky sweaters and warm apple cider. And now it's time to decorate for the season. Here are some ideas for prepping your tree for fall.
Halloween Theme
For those that love to celebrate Halloween, there are a few fun ways to dress up the tree. Create a black and white tree, adding mini skeletons, bats, spiders, spider webs or skulls. Then add black and white bows around the tree. Top it off with a black witch's hat. String lights shaped like skeletons, bones or jack-o-lanterns create a spooky ambiance.
Autumn Theme
Add mini pumpkins all over the tree. Collect fallen leaves, spray paint them gold and attach with ornament hangers. Dehydrate slices of orange and hang from brown jute twine. Then use artificial wired garland that's made up of fall-colored leaves, pumpkins and berries. Use white string lights or use LED lights that you can set to a seasonal mode of orange or amber.
