This steel downrod by Fanimation is available in multiple finishes and lengths to accommodate a ceiling fan installation. When installing a ceiling fan, the recommended downrod length is based on the ceiling height. The ideal distance for a ceiling fan is 7 to 9 feet from the ceiling fan blades to the floor. If downrods are joined together to create the ideal distance, a downrod coupler is required.
