The Daylily (Hemerocallis) is considered a sure bet perennial, as they thrive throughout most of the country, with the exception of the very deep south. They tolerate less then ideal conditions and will bloom faithfully for years with virtually no attention. As the name implies, Daylily flowers open in the morning and die by nightfall. Each flower stem typically has at least a dozen flower buds, and the plant stays in bloom for many weeks. They should be planted in every garden. Stella Devon oro is a multiple aha award winner and is perhaps the most popular Daylily in cultivation world wide. It flowers yellow, with deeper throats and ruffled edges. The leaves are linear and blade-like. Its flower is classified as a miniature, and appreciated for it's compact size, vigorous growth, profuse bloom, and extended blooming period. Very easy to grow and a garden staple. Plant in broad sweeps for massive curb appeal. Will return for years to come.
