The 28 inch kennel comes with a handle but does not come with a built-in compartment. Kennels in sizes 32 inch, 36 inch, and 40 inch do not have a handle or built-in compartment. The pet mate kennel is easy-to-assemble with no tools required. Includes wing nuts and bolts. For airline travel, the use of wing nuts and bolts is required.
