Panamint Nectarine is a heavy bearer in mild winter areas, that requires less winter chill than other varieties to provide an ample harvest. Panamint only needs 300 chill hours, to produce it's medium sized fruit with rich red skin and golden flesh. This is a freestone when ripe, which occurs in early to mid-July. Panamint is hardy in USDA zones 8 to 9. Fruit is produced on the previous year's wood, so be sure to leave enough to encsure a good crop.
