Chicago Hardy Fig is a cold-hardy, fruit-bearing tree. It can grow up to 30 ft. tall if you let it or you can keep it trimmed to a manageable 6 ft. The trees foliage takes the form of 3-fingered leaves. The figs themselves are as large as golf balls and have a sweet, juicy taste. Purple in color, they ripen from late summer to early fall. Enjoy your fresh figs in salads and cereals or prepare them as appetizers. Chicago Hardy requires minimal maintenance and can grow in a variety of locations. Drought-tolerant and pest-resistant, too.
