Three quarter poplar plywood is popular for a variety of uses including cabinets, shelves, fixtures, furniture, cases, and slab doors. This pale, tight and beautifully grained wood provides a very smooth surface. The lightweight veneer core of the panel offers superior durability and screw holding. The natural grain pattern is much more subtle than many other hardwoods. Finish sanding provides an extremely smooth surface without the need for grain filler. Because of the pale color, and even and fine grain, poplar can be stain-finished to mimic the look of costlier woods. It accepts paint as well. Made from renewable resources, plywood is one of the most environmentally friendly decorative products available. Plywood manufacturing achieves a more complete utilization of the log than lumber.
