Pipe thread sealant is used to seal male to female pipe threads. Bubbles in the solution will indicate a leak. The pipe thread sealant is preferred over gas PTFE tape because of its fluidity - it seals up the crevices of the Male to Female thread engagement and provides a better seal. The leak detection solution does not contain soap or detergents, eliminating a false reading.
