Ipe Oil features a low 100 VOC formula for hardwood decks, siding, patios and outdoor furniture that produces a deep natural hardwood finish. It provides excellent penetration with minimal rising of the wood grain. It nourishes wood from within and provides advanced level defenses from the damaging effects of UV rays, water intrusion and drastic weather changes. Ipe Oil hardwood stain finish includes a distinct blend of natural oils for maximum wood grain penetration. It uses a semi-transparent tint for UV protection while allowing hardwoods to breathe. This is essential when protecting exotic hardwoods from south America as well as thermally modified north America wood specie. Many traditional wood finishes are a surface film finish which can crack, peel or bubble. Other wood oils include a lacquer, which will not allow the hardwood to breathe. When refinishing hardwoods, these types of lacquer products have an opaque milky surface which does not allow a fresh coat to soak down into the wood. That means, many times complete stripping and sanding is needed. But not with Ipe Oil which contains no lacquer and 1 Gallon will cover approximately 250 to 300 Sq. Ft. of hardwood surface. As an oil-based natural hardwood finish, it utilizes a low 250 VOC formula. Soak times may vary depending on ambient sun and weather temperatures. Always thoroughly and completely wipe away all excess Oil from the hardwood surface to prevent tackiness.
