First Blush Hosta has a unique color scheme. It emerges in spring coming out green, then begins to show a blush of red color from tip to base. As the season wanes, the rich green color will return. The red blush will persist longer in Northern gardens, and in summer, purple blooms enrich the scene with contrasting the deep green color.
