The Forney 42303 E711-GS flux core wire for mild steel is a self-shielded mild steel all position flux-cored welding wire. Best suited to single pass applications with high travel speed. Moderate to low spatter. Although no gas is required, an argon/CO2 mix will reduce spatter. Excellent on thin gauge mild steel. Pink color coding on label. Tensile strength is 79,000 PSI. Polarity is D.C.E.N straight. Shielding gas is not required. Wire diameter is 0.030 inches (0.8 mm). Weight is 10 pounds (4.54 Kg). Flux cored wire is classified as ER71T-GS. (E) stands for electrode. The (7) indicates the tensile strength, 70,000 PSI. The (1) indicates that it is an all position wire. (T) indicates tubular wire.
