Judy Zuk Magnolia is an attractive upright magnolia that adds color, fragrance and outstanding foliage to the landscape. In the spring, its 7 in. to 9 in. tulip-shaped, yellow flowers with a plum base, fill the air with fragrance. Throughout the growing season, this deciduous tree has ovate, medium green, leathery leaves that turn yellow in the fall. Its flowers are usually sterile. This tree is named in honor of Judy Zuk, a former president of Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Hardy in USDA zones 5 to 9.
