Spikes of striking, hyacinth-like violet-blue blooms atop clumps of narrow dark-green leaves. Liriope muscari ‘Super Blue’ is, well, super for mass plantings, edgings along pathways, or in tandem with shrubs in woodland-style designs. Good drainage and regular watering make this clumping spreader easy to grow and versatile in borders, along driveways and sidewalks, or as a ground cover or container plant. Highly attractive when massed around the base of trees or tall shrubs or filling in gaps between shrubs. Glossy purple-black fruits follow the flowers in fall. Grows to 2’ high and wide. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Looks best with supplemental water during periods of drought. Provide part sun to shade. Flowers summer to fall. Hardy to Zone 6/-10 degrees F.
