The “HVAC Insulated-Flex R-8” is the ideal insulated air duct for use in permanently installed heating and cooling applications. The fiberglass insulation wrap inside this flex duct is considered to be the most effective wrap material insulation product used in thermal and acoustic insulation implementation. The thick wrap is an excellent thermal insulator, as its bulk offers the maximum duct insulation while the air pockets between its fibers trap and contain air. These countless air pockets act as a barrier to heat movement, thwarting cold or hot air from entering or leaving the interior of the insulated duct. This flexible Insulated ducting is built with plies of aluminum foil, and insulated fiberglass duct wrap. The multiple layers work in conjunction to stop the movement of temperatures across the walls of the ductwork. The exterior jacket is made out of silver fiberglass reinforced fabric. Glass fabrics are applied as thermal insulations when high or low temperatures are present and removed when one would want to reduce the heat flow.
