Rubber-Cal’s General Purpose Rubber is a durable and affordable sheet rubber that can be used for a vast number of applications. Made from tough and reliable styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), this synthetic rubber has a durometer of 50A to give it a firm surface with a fair amount of pliability. The rubber sheets are still tough enough to resist most indentations without sacrificing their flexible nature. The soft rubber has been through a chemical heating process called vulcanization, increasing its durability and giving it a smooth and solid finish. SBR rubber is best known for its high abrasion resistance, making it a great material for industrial, commercial, and residential applications alike.Synthetic rubbers like SBR are tougher and longer lasting than alternatives. This rubber material has excellent resistance to most physical conditions, including abrasions, moisture, and UV light. This makes the rubber sheeting great for applications both indoors and outdoors, as the artificial rubber can withstand the damaging effects of weather. In addition to its intense durability, this synthetic rubber material has a working temperature range from -10° F to 190° F, so it can withstand the conditions of most industrial settings without showing any wear for a long time. The heat and friction of industrial machinery is no match for this vulcanized rubber sheet; synthetic elastomers are specially designed to handle extreme conditions.A few key advantages of synthetic rubber are its natural abilities to enhance traction, absorb shock, and reduce noise. Such qualities make these thin rubber sheets an excellent material for protective bumpers or pads. The large rubber sheet absorbs any vibrations to reduce sound and movement for a safe and solid rubber surface. This 1/16” rubber sheet is the thinnest of five gauges available and works best for flexible applications such as seals, gaskets, and industrial lining.
Made from styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) for long-lasting durability and superior abrasion resistance
SBR makes a great protective barrier because it can absorb shock, limit vibration, and reduce noise
50A durometer means that the material is on the softer side and it maintains excellent flexibility
This 3/16-in rubber is the median of five available gauges to allow for countless potential applications
This sheet rubber is backed with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) for easy do-it-yourself installation
