The Juliet Variegated Cleyera from the Southern Living Plant Collection is an elegant new evergreen beauty for your landscape. It features gorgeous olive green foliage edged with creamy white. Each leaf is slender and glossy, leathery in texture. New growth emerges with a red hue before maturing to its signature color scheme. This variety is heat tolerant, as well as disease and pest resistant. It has a naturally compact growth habit and is capable of reaching 8 ft. - 10 ft. tall and 5 ft. - 6 ft. W at maturity. It has a slow growth rate, so a yearly trim will keep it at your desired size. It's a fantastic accent in a mixed garden bed, it shines as a hedge or border and it makes for an unusual yet impressive privacy screen if allowed to grow freely. The Juliet Variegated Cleyera is hardy from USDA Zones 7-10. Allow for full sun to light shade exposure for best results. Provide acidic soil with good drainage to promote optimal health. Water 2-3 times per week during the first growing season. Fertilize yearly in spring with an acidic plant fertilizer to promote new growth. These plants are well-rooted in 2 Gal. pots and are approximately 12 in. - 16 in. tall.
