The Red Haven peach is a prized, all-purpose peach, known for its attractive pink spring flowers, sweet yellow fruit and bright fall foliage. It is a freestone variety that produces large, yellow flesh fruit in late July. They are the one of the most common eating peaches and is easy to grow and maintain; great for canning and freezing. The Red Haven tree blooms late to avoid spring frosts, is heavy-bearing and disease-resistant, especially against leaf spot. At maturity, it can reach a height of 25 feet it is self-pollinating, and requires 800-900 chill hours. Originates from South Haven, Michigan in 1930, introduced in 1940. This tree is hardy in USDA Zones 5-8 and is shipped in a #1 pot with an average tree height of 12 inches.
