The redbud tree set blooms 3 to 4 weeks in early to mid spring, making it one of the first trees to bloom after a cold winter. The rosy-purple flowers that cover the redbud tree will put a smile on your face. After blooming the blooms give way to medium green, heart-shaped foliage. Redbud trees grow 20 ft. to 30 ft. tall with a 25 ft. to 30 ft. spread, and an upright, spreading, umbrella-like habit. Native to the eastern United States, the redbud tree grows best in full sun to partial shade.
