Dark Green Spreader Yew lives up to its name, it's a low-growing, evergreen shrub with a spreading habit that makes it great for foundation or hedge row planting. At 3 to 4 feet tall with a 4 to 6 foot spread, this shrub features soft, dark green needles and a dense habit. Dark Green Spreader Yew prefers well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. All of our yews are field grown in western Michigan's sandy loam soils, so it has a very well-developed fibrous root system. Never spent a day of it's life in a pot. So, it has never had to suffer from a pot-bound root system and there is less transplant shock and quicker adaptation when planted into a new soil type.
