Patio Cushions & Pillows

Finding the Perfect Outdoor Patio Cushions

Patio Cushions and Pillows

Patio cushions and pillows add a pop of color and comfort to your outdoor living space. These cushions are different than your indoor furniture cushions. Like your indoor cushions, they have removable cushion covers that you can toss in the washer, but the design of outdoor cushions allows them to withstand adverse weather conditions. They come in microfiber, cotton, linen, acrylic and more. Try mixing different fabrics, colors and patterns to create a unique look.

The materials and fabrics that make up outdoor patio cushions vary.  Since the furniture has a unique style or aesthetic already predetermined, patio furniture can come with cushions included for added convenience. You can always switch out the cushions for a new look if desired.

Types of Patio Cushions

When designing your outdoor living space, you'll want to have your comfort level needs in mind. Patio cushions have a wide array of fillings to choose from. The most popular fill types are polyester fill or clustered polyfill. The material is soft but doesn't aim to offer support. If support is a determining factor for you, a Dacron cushion might be the perfect fit. The material is typically used to construct luxury beds. For a more affordable option, try Dacron-wrapped. This includes a bit of the material with a thin layer of polyester for a result similar to a padded mattress.

Storage

Outdoor patio cushions consist of a material that can withstand adverse weather conditions, but it's still recommended to put cushions away when you can. This protects against any sitting moisture while also extending the longevity of your cushions. There are storage ideas that work for your space no matter how big or small it is. Examples of patio pillow storage include airtight containers, fabric bags or underneath tarps. Deck boxes are multi-use and fit in most standard-sized patio areas. They come in large and small sizes and have a lock option. You can store your patio pillows, cushions and throws in the box and secure it with a clasp or lock and key. These boxes offer various levels of style, storage and security.
