A. I’m worried about making the investment.
Replacing appliances can be an unexpected expense. Take the stress out of a big purchase by taking advantage of our 12-month special financing. Or if you don’t want to apply for a credit card, shop our special values section to see what brands have been recently marked down.
Options from brands like Samsung, Whirlpool®, and GE have been known to last a decade or more with proper maintenance. So think about this as a long-term investment in your home — and being able to clean your clothes quickly and easily without having to leave the house.
B. I do laundry constantly and need to cut my energy costs.
Great news, there are plenty of ENERGY STAR® certified washers and dryers available from all the top brands. The ENERGY STAR® certification means that these appliances use less energy and meet strict criteria set by the EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy. We have hundreds of options, available from different brands, in different sizes or colors, with other special features. Go back to the top and choose your next concern.
C. I’m worried my kids or partner might leave something in their pockets that could damage the machine.
Look for a stainless-steel drum in both your washer and dryer. It’s the most durable material and should last the life of the machine. Unlike a plastic tub, it doesn’t hold on to stains or odor and won’t scratch as easily. Besides handling higher spin speeds, they also won’t rust, chip or stain — meaning your clothes won’t be damaged during the cleaning process. That means no rust stains on your clothes, stains or tears from washing or drying.
D. I live in a small home and don’t have a ton of space.
There are two options if you have limited laundry space. The first is a stackable washer and dryer. Instead of two units side by side, they use vertical space for a smaller footprint. That means they can be hidden away in a closet or added into another small multipurpose room if you don’t have a full laundry room. Front loader washers and dryers also use 25-percent less energy than a top loading washer. This style makes it easier to load and unload too, thanks to the location of the doors.
Another possibility is an all-in-one washer and dryer. Don’t balk at the price tag, since you’re getting two appliances in one. An easy-to-use small space solution, you only have one machine that both washes and dries with the same cleaning power as a standard washer. If you're considering this combo, try the GE Profile™ All-in-One UltraFast Combo Washer and Dryer. It can wash and dry a load of laundry in about two hours — impressive.
E. The pet hair on our clothes is out of control, I need help to handle it.
Meet the Maytag® Pet Pro washer. It’s designed to handle all the messes that your four-legged friends get into. Its cutting-edge design removes pet hair using its Pet Pro Filter. The washer also features a built-in faucet to make pre-treating easier, along with a Deep Fill option that allows you to soak dirty laundry when you need to.
You can also shop our selection of washers that offer a sanitary cycle option from brands like GE, Whirlpool®, LG and Samsung. It’s an additional feature that offers some peace of mind.
F. I’m always forgetting to switch the clothes from the washer to the dryer.
Getting a helping hand with an app enabled washer and dryer. Investing in a smart washer and dryer puts the power in the palm of your hand. An app lets you control your washer or dryer from your phone, sending real time updates. An alert helps you remember that clothes need to be switched from the washer to the dryer. Now you’ll know when a load is done, and you can start or stop laundry sitting on the couch. No more running to the washer or dryer.
