This pump protects your basement even when the power goes out. It works with city water pressure instead of electricity or batteries. When water rises above the normal high water level in your sump pit for any reason, the float on the backup pump rises. The rising float opens a valve that routes city water through backup pump. This flow of city water creates a powerful vacuum, which pulls water out of your sump pit and pumps it outdoors. It will remove up to 2 gallons for every gallon of city water used. When the water level drops, the backup pump float shuts off the valve and the flow of city water stops. This pump can install in a sump basin or out of sight in the rafters. It can be installed with a submersible or pedestal pump. It must be used in homes with city water and you need a sump basin at least 18-in. wide x 22-in. deep.
